The Big #5!

Today my rambunctious, handsome little man is 5 years old! I can't believe it's been 5 years (almost) since we left Guam with a 6 week old baby boy and two-year-old little princess! :-)

Our deal with the kids is that we won't have a full-blown "kid" party for their birthdays every year, but they'll take turns having a party every few years. Gracie had her first "friend" party when she turned 5, so Emmett got to have one when he turned 5. We decided on a pool party and it was great (we had it last Saturday). Jason spent almost 1 1/2 hours in the pool rough-housing with the mob of 5-year-old boys (the girls played quietly by themselves). By the time we headed to the party room for cupcakes and presents, it was eerily quiet - they were soooo tired from swimming - thanks Jason! :-)

7 Years and Counting!

My beautiful baby girl is now a beautiful young lady! I think she had a wonderful day today. She got to open a new watch before school this morning (she was up and ready to go at 4:55am!!), homemade waffles for breakfast, then off to school. She requested an "Old" McDonald's burger and fries for lunch, so Jessie and I packed lunches and ate lunch with her at school. Then, May Day flower cupcakes with her class. After school she had soccer practice, we delivered May Day flowers to the neighbors, more burgers (homemade this time) and twice-baked potatoes for dinner. More cupcakes after dinner and of course, presents!

Emmett, so proud of his gift for her!
