Three-Ring Fun!

I decided to give Jason a few hours at home alone to get some work done, so I took the kids to the Shrine Circus! It was awesome! The kids didn't know what to expect and I was very impressed with all the acts. The girls had their faces painted and Emmett got a sonic blaster, then it was on to hot dogs and 7-up and we were all happy! :-)
Favorites
Gracie: dancers, acrobats
Emmett: motorcyles on the wire, girl juggling swords
Jessie: elephants, everything!

Birthday Cake and Sausage Fest

On March 31st, 2009, at 11:17pm after 3 hours of labor, my only Montana baby was born! And on her third birthday she got to participate in her first Weber Family Sausage Fest! We spent the weekend in Sedro-Woolley with my parents and about 30 members of our extended family. We made 435 lbs of German sausage and about 100 lbs of ground breakfast sausage. The family meets and makes sausage every year, but we haven't helped make it in four years - too long! Gracie gets the sausage-maker apprentice award because she helped with every step of the process - and LOVED it!

Jessie is proud to be 3!
Step 1: Chunk the pork (Gracie was the "tosser"- she had to toss Daddy's meat into the tub after it was cut).
Step 2: Season the meat with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Grind it up.
Step 4: Put in the stuffer and make links.
Step 5: Gracie learning the link-making trade.

Step 6: Finally, into the smoke house for several hours of apple-wood smoke!
Then, the most important part of the day - birthday cake!
